You Can't Go

A very sad scene from my Sonic fanfic series, The Legends of Mobius, Book VII. In this story, the evil Kovar has all but taken total control over Mobius, and now Freedom Fighters everywhere are suffering. To help them and his family, Sonic agrees to sacrifice himself to Kovar in exchange for the freedom and safety of his loved ones. That's what the number on his arm means--that he's marked for execution. But Cyan, once she hears Sonic's plans, becomes desperate to stop him. She loves him more than anything in existence, and there's no way in heaven and earth she'll ever lose him. She actually gets very angry at him in her efforts to stop him.

This pic takes place right after she shoves him against a wall and says, "You Can't Go!" But her anger is short-lived and she eventually just goes to pieces, Sonic doing the best he can to console her. The only thing that does calm her down is Sonic agreeing to let her go down with him. Yes, it is a heartbreaking scene, but little does Cyan--or Kovar for that matter--know that Sonic really isn't going to die. Let's just say he has a little magic on his side... a little star watching over him. But I shall say nothing more, nothing less.
