Sonic is Sega's Mascot DX by SonicMaster23 Sonic is Sega's Mascot DX by SonicMaster23
Before you Shadow fangirls/fanboys start mauling me, I want to say that I DO like Shadow. I honestly do. At least, I DID when he first debuted in SA2. But then Sega turned him into an emo douche-bag. No, I'm trying to make a different point with this stamp.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has noticed lately that all the spotlight has been taken from Sonic, mascot fo Sega for over 15 years, and given to none other than Shadow the Hedgehog. Think about it. No one ever mentions Sonic anymore when they discuss the games -- they all say, "Oh, Shadow's badass!" or "Shadow did this, Shadow did that..." etc. Sonic hardly appeared in the new season of Sonic X, but Shadow did. Shadow has had his own game (and there are now rumors of a second, god help us all). My question is, what is this? The last time I checked, Sonic was the hero of the series. Not this black-and-red gun-toting look-alike.

I'm not denying that Shadow does more than any other character usually. That's exactly my point--he does, because Sega seems to think he's the only character badass enough to do stuff. Some of you true Sonic fans may remember that Sonic USED to be just as badass. He was clever and cocky and nothing beat him. But now all you see Sonic doing is skipping through the flowers and saying "SMILE! 8D" As I like to say, Sonic Team neutered him. He's not the awesome hero he used to be. He was merely shoved aside, because y'know, good ol' violent, angry, depressed, shooting, motorcycle-riding Shadow is with the times.

Get a clue, Sega. Sonic is your mascot, Sonic is the reason you were ever successful, and Sonic is the REAL hero. NOT SHADOW.

I like Sonic more as an iconic mascot and I like Shadow more as a character(in Sa2

I do see from your pov good sir.... but, Sonic isn't really loosing his spot.
Sure, Shadow may have a few big roles, but Sonic has always been there. I mean, Shadow was only in one of the Sonic cartoons I can think of, and although he has his own game, Sonic has more. Sonic will ALWAYS be there for Sega. He IS Sega.

FINALLY!!! A stamp for this! I'm sick of seeing people putting Shadow before the main character of the series!
The stamp is true.

Shadow arrives in his cheerleading outfit and pompoms.

Shadow: Hey sega I got my cheer.... uh what is Sonic doing!?

Sonic: Go sega go go go SEGA *jumps into splits* OWWWWWWWW

Sega guy : Bravo your through and well call the ambulance!
I agree with this, but...I'm a bit confused, for some points. I mean, I never watched the final season of Sonic X, so I don't know about the Shadow thing there, but just because Shadow got his own game doesn't mean he's automatically the new hero or something. It's called a spin-off game! I mean like with Luigi's mansion, just because he's the main character in that game doesn't mean he took over Mario's spot. And besides, there were a few games where Sonic wasn't the main character. Like Knuckles' Chaotix, or even Tails' Adventure and Tails' Sky Patrol. In fact, the latter games he wasn't even in them! They were good (besides Tails' Sky Patrol, cause instant death walls are baaad). And I wouldn't say they neutered Sonic at all, I say they made him more..friendly. Besides, he's still cocky, maybe not so much in the games right now, although Sonic Lost World made him pretty cocky and sarcastic and stuff, which I liked. He's more cocky and stuff in the comics, and the shows anyway. And Sonic was never shoved aside, just because Shadow got to be a major part in a few games. Sonic will always be SEGA's mascot, and Shadow has never been close to being seen as the mascot of SEGA.
