Artist's Comments

This was a project I did for my Art Appreciation course at HCC. For the project, we had to choose an artist that inspired us, and create our own original artwork in the spirit of that artist. The artist I chose was who is my idol. If you've never checked out her gallery, I strongly recommend that you do -- her fantasy and wildlife artwork is absolutely beautiful. She has always inspired most of my fantasy pieces, especially the ones of unicorns.

This was by far the biggest color pencil piece I've ever done. The picture is 22.5 in. x 28.5 in., and it is done completely in Prisma color pencil. Needless to say, I just about killed my black and blue pencils on this thing. Then, when I was working on it, my crazy parrot tried stealing my supplies and chewing them up. >.>

But I'm rather pleased with how this came out. It got a great grade. Now I just have to figure out where I can put it.

I too also had this for my art appreciation class.

Except this was for extra credit.

I drew a picture of 2 Stupid Dogs, and said that the creator of One Piece was the one that inspired me to make the image.

I figured that's what it was I just got a 72 piece set of Derwent soft lead ^_^ they are perfect for blending :)
